About

Research, reflection, and the journey of becoming.

Julia Asamoa
PhD Candidate, Communication
Environmental Communication

I am a doctoral student in Communication with research interests in environmental communication, digital and visual activism, and intercultural media practices. My work explores how visuals, narratives, and public discourse shape environmental advocacy, particularly in Global South contexts.

Beyond research outputs, I care deeply about reflective scholarship — thinking carefully about how academic life is lived, not just produced. This website is both a professional archive and a personal space for documenting the PhD journey in all its complexity.

When I'm not researching or writing, you'll find me exploring creative outlets, traveling, and seeking moments of rest and beauty outside the academy.
